Legal
Terms of Use
Effective .
This is a fictional demo agency. Greene Insurance Group, LLC does not exist and holds no insurance licence. This document is an illustrative template showing the shape of the terms an independent insurance agency would publish. It is not the enforceable agreement of a real business, it binds nobody, and it is not legal advice. Do not adopt it for a real company without a lawyer.
Short version: this site is here to explain insurance and to let you start a conversation. It cannot sell you a policy, change one, or cancel one. For that you need a person.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Greene Insurance Group, LLC ("Greene Insurance", "we", "us") covering your use of this website and the forms on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site — there is nothing here you are obliged to agree to in order to call us instead.
These terms do not govern any insurance policy. A policy is a separate contract between you and an insurance company, and its own wording controls.
No coverage is bound through this website
Coverage cannot be bound, altered, cancelled, or modified through this website.Submitting a form, sending an email, leaving a voicemail, or sending a text message does not create, change, extend, reinstate, or terminate insurance coverage of any kind.
Coverage exists only when a licensed agent confirms it to you directly and an insurance company accepts the risk and issues it. Until that happens, assume you are not covered — because you are not. If you need coverage in force today, or you need something cancelled by a specific date, call us at (828) 555-0142 and speak to somebody. Do not rely on a form.
The same goes for claims. Reporting a loss on a web form does not put the carrier on notice; use the numbers on our claims page.
General information, not advice
The coverage explanations, comparisons, examples, limits, and figures on this site are general educational summaries. They are simplified on purpose, they are not tailored to your situation, and they are not legal, tax, financial, or professional advice.
Insurance policy language is what actually decides whether a loss is covered. Nothing on this site amends, interprets, or overrides the terms, conditions, exclusions, endorsements, or limits of an issued policy, and where this site and a policy disagree, the policy wins every time. Availability, eligibility, coverage forms, and pricing vary by state, by carrier, and by underwriting.
Any premium, rate, indication, or saving mentioned on this site is illustrative. It is not an offer, not a quote, and not a guarantee that you can buy anything at that price.
Licensing and where we can help
Greene Insurance is an independent insurance agency. Our National Producer Number and state licence details appear in the footer of every page. We are licensed to transact insurance only in NC, SC, TN, GA, VA, and we can only place coverage for risks located in a state where we and the carrier are both authorised.
Nothing on this site is an offer or solicitation to sell insurance in any jurisdiction where we are not licensed, or where such an offer would be unlawful. If you contact us from somewhere we cannot help, we will tell you and, where we can, point you at an agency that can.
We represent multiple insurance companies. We are not an insurer, we do not underwrite risk, and we do not pay claims. Carriers do.
Quote requests and what happens to them
A submission through our quote form is a preliminary request for information. It is not a quote, an application, a binder, a contract, an offer to insure, or a guarantee of price, coverage, or eligibility. A licensed agent reviews it and follows up, and we may need more information before anyone can rate it.
You agree that the information you give us is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge, and that you have the authority to give it for anyone else you name. Insurance is priced on what you tell us. A material misstatement — an undisclosed driver, an understated square footage, a claim you left out — can change your premium, void a quote, or give a carrier grounds to rescind a policy after a loss.
What we do with what you send is set out in our Privacy Policy. Please do not send Social Security numbers, driver's licence numbers, financial account details, or medical information through a web form. If a carrier needs something sensitive, we will collect it over a secure channel and tell you why.
Electronic communications and signatures
When you contact us electronically, you consent to receive our replies electronically, and you agree that our electronic records and any e-signature you provide satisfy any requirement that a communication be in writing or signed. You can withdraw that consent and ask for paper at any time by writing to us — it costs nothing and we will not make it awkward.
Email and text are not secure. Messages can be delayed, filtered, or lost, and we cannot guarantee that anything you send us arrives or is read within any particular time. Never rely on an unacknowledged electronic message for anything time-sensitive.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false, fraudulent, or someone else's information;
- use the site to commit or facilitate insurance fraud, which is a crime in every state;
- scrape, crawl, or harvest at a rate that degrades the site for others, or ignore our
robots.txt; - probe, scan, or test the security of the site except as our security policy permits;
- send automated submissions, spam, or bulk unsolicited messages through our forms;
- upload malware, or attempt to gain access to any system or data you are not authorised to reach;
- reverse engineer, frame, or misrepresent the site as your own;
- use the site in any way that breaks the law.
Ordinary, well-behaved crawling is welcome. This site publishes machine-readable descriptions of itself precisely so that automated readers do not have to guess.
Client portal and accounts
Existing clients may have credentials for a separate client portal operated by a third-party vendor, reached through the login link on this site. That portal is governed by its own terms, and by our agreement with you as your agent. You are responsible for keeping your credentials to yourself and for what happens under them. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has them.
Intellectual property
The design, text, layout, code, and graphics on this site belong to Greene Insurance or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, print, and share pages for your own personal or internal business use. You may not republish, resell, or systematically copy the content, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.
Insurance company names and marks belong to their owners. Naming a carrier here means we are appointed to place business with them, not that they sponsor or endorse this site. Standard policy forms referenced on this site belong to the organisations that draft them.
If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, write to us at the address below with enough detail to find it and we will look into it promptly.
Third-party links and services
We link to carriers, regulators, and other outside organisations because the link is useful. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you leave this site, these terms and our privacy policy stop applying and theirs begin.
This site itself loads nothing from anyone else — no third-party scripts, font CDNs, trackers, or embeds; even the typefaces are served from this origin — so following a link is the only way another company learns anything about your visit.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that the information on it is current or complete.
We work hard to keep coverage descriptions accurate, but insurance forms, state requirements, and carrier appetite all change. Do not treat a page on this site as the current state of the law or of any policy.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Greene Insurance and its owners, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of your use of this website — even if we were told such damages were possible.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of the website is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100.00).
This section is about the website. It does not limit our professional responsibility to you as your insurance agent, it does not limit anything an insurance policy covers, and it does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law — including fraud or wilful misconduct. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Greene Insurance harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising out of your misuse of this website, your breach of these terms, or information you submitted that you had no right to submit.
Governing law and where disputes go
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of this website or these terms goes to the state or federal courts located in Buncombe County, North Carolina, and you and we each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Nothing here limits any right you have to complain to your state department of insurance, or to bring a matter in small claims court.
The rest
- Changes. We may update these terms. The effective date at the top tells you when we last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
- Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce something immediately, we have not given it up.
- Entire agreement. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement about your use of this website. They are not the whole agreement about your insurance.
- Assignment. You may not assign these terms. We may, to a successor of the agency.
- Accessibility. If any part of this site or these terms is not accessible to you, our accessibility statement explains how to get the content another way.
